Dear Honourable members,

Greetings!

At the outset, I would like to thank everyone of you for bestowing your confidence upon me and making me the President of this prestigious Association for the year 2021 – 22. 

My theme for this year is “Focussed Clinical & Surgical Skills; Continuous Update”. The 1st TNOA Postgraduate Crash Course was held on 9, 10, and 11 April 2021, at Madras Medical College. More than 200 exam-going postgraduates attended this course. It will be conducted every year and I hope this will become the most sought-after PG Clinical Course in the country soon. Both online and offline clinical examination CMEs concentrating one region (like Hip Case Examination) will be conducted once in a month in various medical colleges and other teaching programs will continue.

I am happy to announce that the official journal of TNOA, JOJS (Journal of orthopaedics and joint surgery) has been indexed with Index Copernicus and soon will also get indexed in various platforms like Scopus, Pubmed etc. to help our members to publish their works.

We are updating our members’ addresses, phone numbers & email ids to facilitate e-communication and e-voting and trial online voting will be conducted this year to facilitate online elections of our association from next year as decided in GB. 

I request our members to join the TNOA Professional Indemnity Insurance Scheme and make utilise the benefits of the scheme. 

I request all our members to actively participate in the IOA’s Bone and Joint Day activities and TNOA’s bone health fortnight activities. 

I request all senior members to encourage juniors to become members of our association. I also request everyone of you to involve yourself in the membership drive of TNOA and IOA.

On behalf of Tamil Nadu Orthopaedic Association, I would like to welcome all of you to the official CME of TNOA “TNOA Prof. T.K.S Midyear CME 2021” to be conducted by Nellai Ortho Club in July, 2021 and combined TNOACON2021 and OASISCON 2021 (OASISTNOACON 2021) organised by Midwest Ortho Society at Yercaud on September 10th – 12th, 2021. All TNOA Medal paper sessions will be there and I request all our members to present their works in large numbers.

I sincerely thank all the members especially office bearers and EC members for their support and encouragement during the various TNOA activities so far and so forth.  

The Corona pandemic has played a spoilsport for all of us. Kindly follow all Covid precautions. I request you all to donate for TN CM Covid Fund through TNOA. 

I assure to carry forward our glorious association along the path laid down by our illustrious Past Presidents and to ensure that TNOA reaches much more heights and achieves even bigger laurels
